Luminary Academy USA was founded with a simple mission: to provide high-quality, results-driven tutoring without the fluff. After years of observing other tutoring services prioritize marketing over meaningful education, we knew there was a better way.
Our passion for education and dedication to student success inspired us to create a learning environment focused on small class sizes, personalized attention, and exceptional teachers. Every member of our team has not only strong academic backgrounds and teaching experience but also real-world experience in achieving academic excellence—just like our students are striving to do.

Meet The Team
Jeena
Founder
Jeena is the founder of Luminary Academy. Before launching Luminary, she established and continues to run Rêve Art Studio, where she teaches students of all ages. It was through her experience with Rêve that Jeena discovered her passion for education and the joy of helping students grow.
The idea for Luminary Academy came from Jeena’s search for quality tutoring and mentoring services for her daughter and her friends. Recognizing a need for better options, she partnered with Ryan to create an academy focused on academic excellence. Their vision was to build a place where students could succeed not just academically but also personally.

Jiwon
Teacher
Jiwon is a teacher at Luminary Academy. Jiwon is a dedicated educator with a strong local connection, having graduated from Northern Valley Old Tappan. She then went on to graduate from Carnegie Mellon with a B.S. in chemistry and is currently pursuing a D.D.S. at Columbia University. Her academic achievements include scoring a 35 on the ACT and in the top 0.1% on the DAT. Jiwon brings a deep understanding of academic rigor and a passion for helping students achieve their best.
Ruiyu
Teacher
Ruiyu is a teacher at Luminary Academy, holding both an M.S. in applied mathematics and an M.A. in statistics from Columbia University. Before joining Luminary, she worked at Deloitte, where she evaluated business risks for A-share listed companies.
Ruiyu is passionate about making math engaging for her students, believing that a solid understanding of mathematics opens doors to countless opportunities. She finds joy in fostering a love for learning and helping students gain confidence in their abilities.
